Did you know… your disability protection is there for you?

As a manager in the health and social services sector, you benefit from a group salary insurance plan designed to support you during unexpected situations. Whether you are new to a management role or a long-standing member of the organization, it is important to understand how this coverage helps ensure your financial security.

  1. Who is your insurer ?

The short-term salary insurance plan is administered by your employer, while the long-term plan is administered by Beneva.
For full details regarding the coverage available to you, we invite you to consult the complete documentation available on our website.

2.  How are benefits paid ?

If you must be absent from work for health-related reasons, short-term disability benefits are paid on a declining basis depending on the duration of your disability:

  • 1st week of disability: You receive 100% of your regular salary.
  • Weeks 2 to 26: Benefits correspond to 80% of your salary.
  • Weeks 27 to 104: Benefits are set at 70% of your salary.

Once the 104-week period has been reached, the insurer assumes responsibility for the payment of long-term disability benefits.
For eligible managers, the monthly disability benefit is set at 65% of the gross monthly salary the employee would have been entitled to at the end of the 104-week period.

3. Support on the road to recovery

The plan goes beyond financial support. Starting at the beginning of the 7th month of disability, your employer notifies the insurer of your situation. At that point, Beneva conducts a more in-depth assessment of your case.

The objective is to determine whether you may benefit from a rehabilitation plan. This personalized program aims to provide you with the resources needed to optimize your treatment plan and support a sustainable recovery. It is a genuine partnership designed to help you regain your health and professional autonomy
